Campaign Promises

Promises made during presidential candidate's campaign should practically be the same as proposals. I could see obviously that campaigning for president is essentially a marketing process, in which candidates sell themselves as products, differentiate themselves from the other products, attempt to take the other products in a lower position, and make proposals on how they will perform if they get the job. This is why campaign promises are such an important part of the election process, especially if they revolve around issues that have become problematic or create emotional interest. Most often, these issues involve money.

"Campaign promises may change but their purpose is always the same, that is to win the minds of voters."

It's interesting to see how history is likely to repeat itself and at the same time is easily forgotten. With good intentions, presidential candidates stage their platforms with campaign promises designed to influence voters' opinions and then win their heart. In fact, voters do not realize that some of the promises are difficult to quantify and unaccountable. In an ideal world, each campaign promise would be presented with the complete story, but the political process doesn't seem to endorse that concept. Voters miss this thing. Unfortunately, this happens again and again.

Memang membuat janji tanpa memahami benar kondisi suatu negara bisa menjadi kesalahan.

Apalagi semakin besar negaranya, kadang ad masalah yang tidak diketahui sebelum menduduki posisi presiden itu sendiri.
